The short version

SplatBox runs entirely in your browser. Splat files, projects and edits are processed locally on your machine and are never uploaded to any server. The app sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. UI preferences (panel sizes, settings toggles) are stored in your browser's localStorage, and your currently-open project is auto-saved to your browser's IndexedDB so it reopens after a reload — both stay on your device and never leave it. You can turn the session auto-save off under Settings.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you open this site, Vercel technically processes your IP address and standard request metadata (server logs) to deliver the static files (legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). See Vercel's privacy policy. Data may be processed on servers outside the EU; Vercel relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for such transfers. The request logs are kept only as long as they are needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (e.g. to detect abuse) and are then deleted; the retention periods are set by Vercel and described in its privacy policy.

Storage on your device

The editor keeps your settings in your browser's localStorage and the open project in its IndexedDB (see the short version above). Storing and reading this information on your device is strictly necessary to provide the editor functions you use (§ 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG). It is not transmitted to us or anyone else. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the session auto-save can be switched off under Settings.

The domain is registered via Namecheap, which acts only as the domain registrar and does not process visitors' data when you use this site.

Support widget (Ko-fi)

The "Support on Ko-fi" button opens a donation panel provided by Ko-fi Labs Limited (ko-fi.com). The panel is embedded only after you click the button — no Ko-fi content, cookies or requests are loaded by merely visiting this site. Once opened, Ko-fi technically processes your IP address to serve the panel, and its own cookies and privacy terms apply inside it; any donation is handled entirely by Ko-fi and its payment providers. See Ko-fi's privacy policy. The legal basis for loading the panel is your consent, given by clicking the button (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by not opening the panel again and deleting Ko-fi's cookies in your browser.

Contact by e-mail (Feedback)

If you write to us — via the "Feedback" button or the address above — we receive your e-mail address, the name your mail program sends and the content of your message. We use them only to handle your message (legitimate interest in answering it, Art. 6 (1) f GDPR; where your message concerns a contract or its preparation, Art. 6 (1) b GDPR) and delete them once the matter is settled, unless statutory retention duties apply. The mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail), whose servers may be located outside the EU, including in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you prefer, you can contact us by post at the address above.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it rectified (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20). Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address above.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for us: Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (HmbBfDI), Hamburg.
